  • Portland Children's Museum

This past weekend the infamous Uncle Tom came and visited.  The girls enjoyed it immensely and have asked everyday since, if he's coming to visit today.
Saturday we headed up to Portland and visited the Children's Museum since it was pouring rain and our outdoor options were limited.
The girls had a blast, and it was a great place to spend the afternoon.

  • Black Beans and Rats

What innocently started out as a fun sensory activity with black beans and stretchy rats....

... progessively turned into a really big mess, complete with the cats eating the beans.

years from now the future owners of our house are going to discover gobs of black beans under the oven and wonder...

  • An update of sorts

I think it's been a month since I updated this blog- we've been busy.

I've been involved in starting a preschool co-op with a friend.  We've got a decent sized group now and are establishing a place to meet. In the meantime, the girls and I have been doing fun fall projects and having lots of playdates with friends.   On Fridays I attend Community Bible Study at our church, while the girls have their own bible lesson, craft, snack, song time with teachers.  It's amazing to hear the verses that Madeline has been memorizing and all the questions that she's been asking.

Dave and I took the girls on our annual apple picking trip to a local apple farm- always so much fun!  We had our 5th wedding anniversary last weekend.  We had a great night out ALONE, thanks to my parents.  Dave surprised me by taking me to a very cool, brand new raw foods restaurant in Newburyport- so yummy!

    checking out the chickens...

miracle of miracles, we got them to sit together for a picture...

... this is pretty much how they felt about it (even with bribing them with honey sticks)

  • Seacoast Science Center

We had a wonderful time on our "fieldtrip" to the Science Center at the ocean.  Our friends Dylan, Claire and Leah joined us.  We learned lots of neat things about lobsters and starfish.

  • First Visit to the Dentist

Yesterday Madeline had her very first visit to the dentist.  She did great!  She was so proud to sit in the big chair.  She let the hygienist clean her teeth, but would not let her scrape with the pick.  I was told her teeth look fabulous.  I was a little concerned about enamel problems, since reading that 80% of celiacs have enamel problems.
